Or buy it now - either way. Wonder if they’ll give him a good price.

“Lease” and “owned” might be a bit contradictory here, but apart from me being a dickwad why not keep it if you are so happy with it?

Time to upgrade to a 2016! I love the updated front end and interior. How many miles are on it and how was the reliability?

Yes, the updated front end with full LED lighting is awesome (tail lights have been updated as well with additional LED’s). new interior looks like it could be in a $45k+ car. It is on my list.

Reliability has been good. This car was one of the first 2014's in the US. Its build date is December 2012. It has had a number of recalls as you would expect for an early build of a new platform. Recalls were completed for an ECU re-flash, TMPS re-calibration, charcoal fuel filter replacement, and Radar Cruise re-calibration. I did have a strange electrical issue when the temperature was below 13F. If the defroster was activated and then the radar cruise was activated when you would go to turn off the defroster it would cancel the radar cruise and activate a master warning on the dashboard. Dealership diagnosed it to an over heating radar cruise control unit and replaced it under warranty ($1800 including labor). I also had some rust forming in the trunk drip tray that was fixed under warranty. Dealership experience has been great and they have fixed everything the first time. Mechanically the car has been perfect though. It currently has 24k miles. It consistently gets 30 - 31 mpg with 90% city driving. Tire wear has been very good and even for 19" wheels. Interior does not have any squeaks or rattles. Interior noise levels are a little loud at speed and the heater struggles in the winter to keep the cabin warm (which has been addressed in the 2016 refresh with additional interior insulation). I am very strongly considering getting the updated version. The issues listed above are far outweighed by the pleasure this car brings to daily drives.

Have not decided yet (last minute...I know). I am seriously thinking about a 2016 Mazda 6 GT. But also would like to try something different. I have looked at a 2016 GTI (very nice but not to happy about all the VW BS right now), 2016 WRX (interior is a bit of a let down), 2016 Lexus IS 300 (very nice but a bit outside my budget), and I am also looking at the 2016 Tacoma (never had a truck and the new Taco is awesome). Going from my 6 to a wallow-y truck might be though. Or I may just buy my 6 out of the lease :)
